to which == where?

高中英文學過 in which, from which, to which 等等可以用 where 取代。不過我認為這不是像數學公式般成立。如 "the country to which we migrate" 就不宜改為 "the country where we migrate"。這是因為動詞 migrate 後可接 to 也可接 from，意思是相反的，在此使用 where 會讓讀者搞不清楚作者的原意是 to which 還是 from which。

有的時候呢，我們實在搞不清楚動詞後面應該用哪個介係詞才比較正確 (in? on? at?)，反正中文的意思就是一個"在"，這時候可以偷懶用 where 蒙混過關。不過這是比較不好的寫法。文法正確但語意可能不明確。
